Throwback Thursday: Is It Really Mine?

It should be mine...
...but before I make this world my b*tch; I must sift throught the bullshit, shake off the doubt, & focus my energy.
Where I am?
It's hard. It requires out-of-the-box thinking.
The way I've been programmed since birth? Impossible.
My thoughts, wants & needs were not my own. They were instilled in me. No refund or exchange.
Oppose? They dared me to.
I can't deal with kiss a$ses.
I haven't reluctantly puckered up for a$s since my mother's sperm donor (my Father) left for The Sh!tty City.
Where I am now, I adamantly refuse. I don't respect bosses that barely respect themselves, whoring their laughter & fraudulent positivity out to whoever gives them some false hope of further benefits.
Constant change?
Yea, I understand that's life.
Where I am?
It's dictated by balding white collar goons sporting size 46 waists, alligator suitcases & lunch breaks at Lakeview Golf Course.
Today, Morton told me I don't belong here. Jacobs said the same shortly after.
Comfort is one thing, but when I see light a mile away at the end, but destruction & despair within arms reach, I'm working on not being discouraged. I'm teaching myself to persevere.
The measure of a man is not how he conducts himself when things are rosey, but how he reacts when his back is against the wall.
I'm willing to die against the wall. Not limp & hopeless, but defiant & driven.
However, if it is really mine... I won't have to.

"Born alone, die alone,
no crew to keep my crown or throne
I'm deep by sound alone,
Caved inside in a thousand miles from home
I need a new n*gga, for this black cloud to follow,
Cause while it's over me it's too dark to see tomorrow..."

Throwback Thursday: You Wont Believe It...

My dude Strong reminded me of the atrocious track that was released by none other than Project Pat featuring Three 6 Mafia. The song title is exactly what you would expect from these dudes, with visuals to match. After hearing the chorus repeated about 6 to 8 times, there really is nothing to this track.

That thang is JUICY.

Throwback Thursday: Safety's off The Toaster, Shadow By The Moonlight

Hazy vision, smoke enters & escapes my lungs. Crown Royal on ice...no chase, ever.
Feet up, shorty under my right arm. Fresh into the new millenium...settling in comfortably; my 2nd year of high school.

My boy Starang high off me allowing him to wild out & sing the lyrics generously to Jay-Z "N*gga What, N*gga Who" violently jumps about rapping every word in attempts to impress my girlfriend's 3 friends. I decide to change up the flow a little bit, & insert a CD my boy Tune had made me. First track, Louis Logic - Factotum. To this day, still a favourite joint.
The track that followed? It grabbed me by the intangibles. I didn't want to breathe, blink, move.
Coolie High.
Whatever I thought it meant at the time, the title encompassed my mood. I needed to take this in.
That Sonny Cheeba & Geechi Suede single immediately becoming a staple in all playlists from then on, fueled my tireless search for the full album, "Uptown Saturday Night". HMV, Music World, Sunrise...they all let me down. Internets wasnt poppin' like that for me, so finding the album front to back was an inaccesible oppurtunity for more audio contraband.
The bounce I got from Luchini, comparable only to the aforementioned Hov joint, was welcomed; but Sparkle was the only joint that could match the feeling of my Coolie High.
These Bronx dudes had something melodic I needed.

Much bigger than credit given, they were The Great Bronx Hype making their 1996 debut on The Great White Hype Soundtrack.

Throwback Thursday: Diddy Bop Pt. II

Closed a deal, earned a sizable stack today. Feels good.
When I feel good, I have the urge to get Jiggy. Who better to assist than Diddy Puff Daddy?
Watching this video that features that baaad shorty in the bed & uhh...Loon, made me realize Mr. Shiny Suit Man can't let noooobody shine....at least not solo.
If you're planning on being a BadBoy artist, & you want some sort of longevity, you must understand the simple rule that Mr. Combs is your boss, investor & competition. How many scenes of this vid is dude in?
Maybe he should take the Akon - Lady Gaga route & fall the eff back completely. Maybe people would give a **** about (insert BadBoy Artist here, like Cassie, Dirty Money, Janell Monae, etc) if you weren't hogging the spotlight. Don't remember him doing it?
Him really believing he's a talented dancer is rubbing off on me, as I'm staring at this knot of reds with a splash of a few greens; bouncing my shoulders uncontrollably.
Ima probably Diddy Bop until I'm out of $$$$ from socks, Henny & cheap thrills.

Throwback Thursday: If NikkiOH! Calls...

So myself & new favourite feminine, & ally in fly, NikkiOH!, were going back & forth the other day over twitter. We uncovered our shared love for music from the resting West Coast Giant, Tupac Shakur. I asked her what her fav 3 joints from Pac were, after she blew me away when her post said "#nowplaying Tupac - If My Homies Call".
I think this joint is flamessss and proceeded to be more than intrigued when she mentioned her fav 3 joints from Pac which included "Dear Mama", "If My Homie Calls", "So Much Pain", & "Bury Me A G". Regardless if she can count or not, her list was stellar, & compared well to my top 3 ("So Much Pain", "Bury Me A G", "Temptations"). Our lists were eerily similar, like she read my mind over twitter.
Anyhow, this post is a shout to her, & our mutual love for the career & music that Tupac graced us here before leaving at the premature age of 25.

If you see me in the club, my dance is similar to that at the 1:23, 1:27 & 1:32 mark, Beleedat.

Throwback Thursday: Sir Elton John

Never hating on those with conflicting sexual preferences to mine, I observe what they artistically have to offer, simeltaneously preferring to keep them from 'round me. Cause in all honesty, they are some creative m*therf*ckers.
Easily looking past the dude's sexuality, Elton John is an incredible artist that has stood the test of time, & deliverd countless classics & hits. This joint, "Your Song" is no different.
A classic in it's own right, I remember waking up, eating that nasty porridge before school, circa 1993; hearing this on the radio, along with "Strawberry Fields" by the Beatles.

Random Throwback...but necessary nonetheless.

If you're grown enough, enjoy.

Throwback Thursday: Hate Runs Deep

Unbridled Hometown Heat.
My Top 3 Toronto artist puts in work... all hail Saukrates. It's his Season.
Although extreeeeemly old, this track's message is still relevant & the beat knocks.

Damn, this n*gga Sauks has had dreds forever.

Throwback Thursday: Oochie Bang Bang

Today is the 11th, meaning Valentine's Day is around the corner.
This song is a tribute to all things raunchy, nasty, & sensual that will surely be going DOWN this weekend. Besides, there's too many oppurtunities. Between our Kamakacci Anniversary Event tomorrow night, to Saturday's 400 Club... it's a reynolds wrap.
Bang, Bang indeed.

Throwback Thursday: Rallyin' for Haiti

Toronto has stepped up to the plate in a major way with quite a few fundraisers occuring throughout the city in support of Haiti. We here at Kamakacci & our affliate Talk of Toronto got involved with Jully Black's Exercise Relief effort, Black 2 Basics... pictures to be posted soon.
My joint for Throwback Thursday is from the aforementioned Toronto songstress, along with the man of the Season... Season One to be exact, Saukrates.Easily a top 3 contender in my eyes for this Toronto urban music sh*t, Saukrates has been as instrumental as any keeping Toronto bubbling for '09 & beyond. To say he's back would be a lie. Dude never went anywhere, being necessary for massive records such as "Fades Away" with King Reign, "Hot Like Summer" with Andreena Mill(my personal favourite), & "Soaring To Heaven" with Rich Kidd & King Reign.
Mid year is when we should see Sauks finally ready to unleash his 2nd studio album masterpiece: Season One.
His new joint "Wednesday" is getting beaucoup spins on Flow 93.5, setting us up for Saukrates Season...

Download the Tone Mason produced "Wednesday", Here.
Download "Hot Like Summer" with Andreena Mill, Here.

Throwback Thursday: Hey Luv

Horrible date at the movies lastnight; beginning, middle & end. This Mobb Deep throwback joint exemplifies the exact opposite of what I'll be saying to Female X when she asks to go out again.
Realest...Talk...Ever.

Holla @ somebody not putting their tongue in yo nose when they kiss you...

Throwback Thursday: I Used to Cop Raw Base...

Throwbacks are necessary, let the young bwois know where this ish comes from. Above is Rob Bass & E Z Rock's crew with the iconic song "It Takes Two".
The beat is well relevant, with Snoop Dogg's new rendition being this year's version of "A Millie", with all sorts of rappers jumpin on the joint.
Do the Knowledge & Pay Respect to the Originators.

Throwback Thursday: Reflection Eternal

Great two man team, rivaling the greats such as Rakim & Eric B, EPMD, even Pete Rock & CL Smooth lands us here... Reflection Eternal.
The Blast is a timeless track, second in quality only to "Memories Live" in my humble, expert opinion. *Wink*.
Great visuals, great vibe, great music.
Looking forward to what this dynamic duo has in store leads us to "Just Begun". A track with a classic hip hop vibe with excellent features (J.Cole & Mos Def & the man of the hour; Jay Electronica).
Get into it...

Throwback Thursday: Christmas Is In This B*tch

Although I am in no way in a joyous, festive mood, thats no reason for y'all not to be.
Shout out to everyone who is spending time with they families, drinking Mauby, Sorrell, Egg Nog, or some other nasty sh*t.
Shout out to n*ggas that got out the bin to see they loved ones (Black, Shiest, Dougla, Maxy... oh yea, Clifford Harris).
Shout out to good people who make donations to less fortunate ones at this time & all year 'round.
Shout out to people that realize Jesus is the reason for the season; be thankful.
Shout out to...me; cause sh*t, if I don't do it, no one else will.

Merry Christmas, Happy Kwanza, Bah Humbug & all that.

Throwback Thursday: Comparitive Hieroglyphics

Above is the original to the Hieroglyphics joint "Make Your Move". I love this piece featuring Goapele, who to me is the new school Sade(I'm sure someone got offended by that one).
The original above, & remix found below produced by 9th Wonder (aka 9thmatic) are both tight, but which beat do you like better?Finally... just because I like these dudes, lets add prob their biggest record to date, "You'll Never Know".Peep the TDot shout out @ 3:00 mark.
Enjoy you bastards.

Throwback Thursday....On Sunday.(Hampster Wheel)

If you stare long enough, you can see the lil guy in the cage making the wheels turn in my mind. The catalysts are:
1. Hayes from Detroit recently signed to Aftermath by Dre & Timbaland(?I dont know how that works either?). He has written on Detox & they boost the hell out of his storytellin' abilities.

2. Outkast's Big Boi recently commented on his album, Sir Luscious Left Foot: The Son of Chico Dusty will be coming out shortly, as well as an Andre 3000 album, perhaps followed by an Outkast album. Oooweee.

This joint is one of my favs from one of my fav albums.
Thought process complete.
Enjoy.

Throwback Thursday: O.C. & A.G.

O.C. & A.G. from the legendary D.I.T.C. crew released a joint album on Nov. 24 2009, so it's only right we feature 'em on Throwback Thursday.
Their new album is called Oasis, & is worth the listen.
Support that real.

Throwback Thursday: Kelis

I'm on my Kelis ish right today, & she got some videos that are a lil out there. Kalidescope gave birth to the woman's anthem "Caught Out There", which was a platoon of madwomen parading around the streets after they men probably played 'em like xBox.
On a totally different vibe is the video above is called "Millionaire" featuring Andre 3Stacks. Been a fan of this video, for the same reason I like CRS's vid for "Us Placers".
Below is on a more eerie tip, so take in the "Get Along With You" vid. No kids in this one, just Tim Burton type animation.
"Dont ask bout the loud screaming chick w/ the hair..."

Throwback Thursday: Diddy Bop

This post is about Diddy. How many all Diddy songs could i possibly post? Not being down with the shiny suits, I went hard (||) & piggybacked off Nas for this Hate Me Now joint.
I say that to say this, & introduce the new... Below is Dirty Money (aka Diddy, aka Limelight Theif w/ back up singer & dancers) with their new single "Love Come Down".
The Mr. Carter sample is muuuurderous.
Enjoy the video HERE, peasants.

Throwback Thursday: Who You Wit

How many of you herbs have seen this video? If you're in the minority of real fans, I tip my hat. Eaaaarly Jay-Z on this is fitting, as he will be in Toronto, Canada in 2 days, October 31st.
Pay attention to the record label the vid says he's on...
Who You Wit?
I'm with nobody, cause my damn box seats to the concert evaporated before my very eyes.
Yes, I'm bitter.
Veeeery bitter.
